Lock7 Development, a top real estate development firm with several active projects in the Raleigh market, seeks an Acquisitions and Development Intern to identify new land acquisition opportunities. We specialize in building townhomes, apartments, self-storage and mixed-use projects throughout North Carolina. The ideal candidate for this role is a graduate or undergraduate business school student looking for real-life experience and the potential for a full-time position after graduation. This is an excellent opportunity for exposure to all aspects of a real estate development project, specifically for a candidate wanting to go into brokerage or land acquisition.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive new markets, scout for land development opportunities. Focus on Wake, Durham, Orange and Chatham counties.
- Identify sellers by researching public records and private databases
- Contact sellers by email, phone, and mail
- Maintain a database of targeted properties
- Draft and submit offers to sellers
- Build back-of-the envelope pro formas to quickly evaluate potential purchases
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completed/In-process Bachelor’s or advanced degree
- Outgoing personality and excellent communications skills
- Driver’s license and a car for prospecting
- Familiarity with the Greater Raleigh area
- Past real estate or sales experience preferred
LOCATION: Our firm headquarters is in Washington, DC although our firm principal lives in Raleigh, NC. The role will be a mix of remote and in-person at a home office near North Hills. This position should plan to be in-person at least two days a week.
JOB SPECIFICS
This is a part-time internship which requires a commitment of two to three days per week. The compensation is $15/hour, depending on experience, with performance bonuses for successful acquisitions.
