Requisition Summary
Peterbilt is seeking a Program Manager with a BS/BA degree and 5+ years of industry related experience. This role will be with Peterbilt Division and will be responsible for managing program development in a matrixed organization to meet program objectives, including schedules, budgets, communication and issue management.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
- Coordinate program activities across multiple departments at Peterbilt, other PACCAR divisions, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and suppliers.
- Deliver assigned programs on time, on budget, while meeting program objectives.
- Maintain assigned programs in the appropriate tollgate phase.
- Effectively communicate up, down, and across the organization, including to Senior Management.
- Write business plans and obtain approval.
- Develop and manage assigned program budgets and schedules.
- Lead efforts to obtain 100% PPAP approval prior to Volume Validation builds.
- Manage successful production implementation.
- Contribute to department-wide continuous improvement activities.
- Travel up to 15% of the time.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills / Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree required. MS/MBA degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with increasing responsibility in project development with demonstrated leadership success required.
- PMP or PgMP certification preferred. If candidate does not currently have a certification, they must be willing to earn one within 12 months of satisfying the experience requirements for the certification.
- Technical aptitude and ability to succinctly communicate complicated topics required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Demonstrated presentation ability, including to senior management, is preferred.
- Previous experience managing projects to a stage gate process required, Peterbilt Tollgate process preferred.
Skills / Competencies Cont.
- Experience managing projects within matrixed organizations spanning multiple locations and countries preferred.
- Experience working with or in production environments desired.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, take initiative, be a strong team player and a problem-solver.
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrates high leadership potential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Teams, and Power BI preferred.
- Six Sigma training preferred.
- Commercial truck product knowledge strongly preferred.
