Full Job Description

Our mission at The Boston Beer Company is to bring the highest-quality products to the U.S. beer drinker. To answer that mission, we are creating an inclusive culture that celebrates the differences in both our people and our brands. Our diversity makes us stronger, and when you bring your authentic self to work, we are a stronger, more innovative, and more sustainable company & community.

As a fast-paced, growing company with a strong family of brands (Samuel Adams, Dogfish Head, Angry Orchard, Twisted Tea, and Truly Hard Seltzer), we seek constantly to challenge the status quo. We are always looking for hardworking, talented, and passionate people (that means you!) to join our team.

We are The Boston Beer Company, and together we are heavy.

We are currently hiring a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, Business Development in Boston, MA or Remote.

The Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis, Business Development will partner with the Innovation team and is responsible for the financial development and execution of various innovative business opportunities including licensing and joint venture arrangements. This role is an excellent opportunity to partner with a small team that influences long-term company-wide investment initiatives. This role provides a unique opportunity to interact with the Leadership Team and other top leaders in the company and has an ability to positively impact the business and all its stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate across the company to help assess and prioritize innovation projects to best align with corporate strategy and growth objectives

  • Take primary responsibility for development of financial projections for innovation projects and activities including licensing and joint venture opportunities. Perform detailed financial analysis; develop comprehensive pro forma financial models and synergy models in support of potential deals

  • Responsible for creating and delivering high quality presentation materials and reports to business unit leaders and the executive leadership team

  • Participate in and lead certain aspects of the deal execution including project management and due diligence. Work closely with business teams, internal functional experts (eg. Innovation, Legal, Accounting, Tax, Strategy, etc.), and outside advisors to support execution

  • Assist and support post-innovation integration by ensuring that cross-functional teams are all executing on their respective plans

  • Draw conclusions from data to make recommendations that contribute to the success of the Company’s inorganic growth initiatives

  • Complete ad-hoc projects, analysis and other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • BA/BS or MBA in finance, economics, accounting, or related degree

  • Master’s Degree or MBA a plus

  • 5+ years experience in CPG, management consulting, or investment banking environments

  • Understanding of and experience with Business Development and/or licensing and joint venture arrangements, including due diligence, financial, legal, and operational considerations

  • Experience with leading projects and collaboration

  • Experience within an FP&A organization versed in preparation of Executive presentation materials

  • International expertise a plus

  • Strong quantitative and analytic skills. Advanced modeling skills, with ability to work with others in complex tasks and review work products. Ability to synthesize data into meaningful conclusions and recommendations

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities given aggressive timelines; comfortable performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, managing both internal and external resources; flexibility to adapt certain approaches to different cultures and working styles

  • Broad financial acumen including a strong foundation in accounting and corporate finance principles

  • Professional skepticism and willingness to challenge assumptions and the status quo to help establish best practices

Some Perks:

Our people are our most important “ingredient.” We not only have to hire the best, but we have to reward, develop, and retain them too. We also have a variety of benefits including a competitive compensation package, extensive training programs, excellent healthcare, a discounted stock purchase plan, and a 401K program with a generous company match. Not to mention, there’s the free beer too!
