The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking candidates for the position of Budget/Accounting Supervisor in the Business Office at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta, located in Decatur, GA.
Job Grade: L
Oversee the daily accounting, budget, and payment activities of the hospital. Perform review and analysis of budget program and policy issues, analyze financial trends, and recommend appropriate courses of action. Supervise and plan work of assigned staff.
Specific Function Areas:
Budget – Operations & Capital Budgets
Accounting – A/P, Invoices, Travel reimbursement, P-cards, etc.
Budget vs. Actual comparisons
Forecasting of Hospital expenditures.
Develop, monitor and maintain capital and operating budgets for the regional hospital and for community programs operated by the hospital
Develop annual operating budgets and submit for review and approval
Perform financial forecasting and projections and analyze trends
Review and prepare budget and financial reports. Monitor expenditures
Prepare and analyze operational statistics, reports, or other data
Coordinate assigned functions with service delivery functions to support the hospital’s mission
Provide technical assistance to others on administrative and budget issues. May participate as a member of internal and external committees and task forces to assess policies, procedures and programs
Plan and organize the unit’s work to meet the organization’s goals and objectives. Direct and review work assignments
Direct and manage staff, define performance expectations and objectives, manage performance and address performance issues, recommend and implement disciplinary action, etc.
Create and maintain a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance or related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of fiscal analysis experience OR Associate’s degree in public administration, business administration, accounting, finance or related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of fiscal analysis experience OR Two years of experience required at the lower level Budget Analyst 2 (FIP011) or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications – External:
Two (2) years of cost accounting experience
Completion of a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance
Additional financial analysis experience
Accounting or financial experience in a healthcare or government setting
