The Technology Commercialization Associate’s primary role will be to help identify, groom, and lead high-profile projects and assist in managing the intellectual property portfolio and licensing of technologies for the Research Institute. The associate will assist the drive to discoveries from Seattle Children’s Research Institute into commercial products to benefit society, impact pediatric and public health, and improve the overall quality of life. Responsible for supporting the day to day elements of intellectual property management and technology transfer matters, including documentation maintenance, and compliance recording. The Technology Commercialization Associate will work closely with the Office of Science-Industry Partnerships to help advance the Research Institute’s most promising research opportunities through developing commercial partnerships. Seattle Children’s Research Institute refers to the combined functions of Intellectual Property Management, Technology Transfer, and Business Development as the “Intellectual Property Core. “
Required Education/Experience: – Bachelor’s Degree or other related advanced degree in a scientific field with an emphasis in life sciences or technology. – Minimum one (1) year of experience in academic technology transfer or similar experience in licensing/business development gained in industry, preferably in a life science field. Preferred: – M. S. or Ph.D. in Life Sciences and/or MBA strongly preferred.
