Founded and led by legendary hotelier and restaurateur Sam Nazarian – best known as the founder and CEO of sbe Lifestyle Hospitality – the company is capitalizing on the rapidly evolving customer preferences for differentiated F&B experiences. The company boasts an award-winning roster of culinary talent and chef partners including Chef Dani Garcia, Chef Masaharu Morimoto, and Chef Dario Cecchini. A hybrid digital kitchen and food hall platform, C3 is on track to grow to 300+ kitchens and 14 brands by December 2021. C3’s current brands include: Umami Burger, Sam’s Crispy Chicken, Krispy Rice, and Ella Mia, with several limited and full-service concepts created by C3’s chef partners launching in early 2021.
Finance & Strategy Associate
This position is part of a highly visible team within the company that requires confident leadership and an entrepreneurial-minded individual comfortable with interacting with senior level stakeholders. The role offers a steep learning curve, the opportunity to scale a business, close partnership with our executive leadership team, and a platform to make a lasting impact.
Ideally, you will be an organizational change agent who ideates, deploys, and evaluates initiatives and programs to drive business goals, efficiency, and strategies. From engagement to partnerships and strategic relationships, you’ll interface with senior leaders and executives by providing strategic counsel and advice to drive C3’s core business. By leveraging a strategic approach, you’ll showcase your mastery of critical thinking, methodical planning, and data analysis while championing work streams and business processes. A successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and an eye for asking the right questions at the right time.
Responsibilities / Duties
Own and manage the overall company financial models and reporting, including but not limited to unit-level, corporate-level (including three-statement), licensing, resource allocation, real estate, joint venture, M&A
Be the main contact point for all Business Unit leaders and coordinate regular updates of the financial models’ assumptions and overall structure
Support senior management with Investor Relations request and overall company reports (e.g., board presentations, investor dashboards creation and update, others)
Coordinate and support assessment of M&A opportunities, including due diligence and evaluating target company’s business plan and synergies
Develop frameworks to execute strategic analysis, market / product assessments, roll-out plans and development of competitive moats
Coordinate cross-functional resources in preparation of business plans, including financial models, forecasts, and budgets
Prepare and present comprehensive project plans and results of strategic analysis
Develop data driven frameworks for evaluating revenue models
Liaise with internal / external stakeholders at various levels regularly
Develop and communicate an understanding of competitive landscape (industry trends, competitor strategies) and conduct strategic analysis of competitors and markets
Bachelor’s degree from a top tier university in business administration, finance, economics or any quantitative field. MBA strongly preferred.
5+ years of work experience, preferably with a top-tier management / strategy consulting, investment banking, venture capital / private equity, or technology firm
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
Excellent visual presentation skills, with a proven ability to create effective presentations
Strong analytical capabilities with a passion for providing innovative and impactful insights through modeling and data analysis
Ability to work with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels to drive forward impactful changes
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects
Superior emotional intelligence with the ability to thrive in an ambiguous setting and superb attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to internalize feedback and improve through training
Must be able to provide documentation that shows you are authorized to work in the United States. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
Education / Experience / Credentials
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of five (5) years of work experience, preferably with a top-tier management / strategy consulting, investment banking, venture capital / private equity, or technology firm.
Must have the ability to speak, read, write, and interpret business documents in the English language.
This position will be based at the Corporate office, although there is flexibility to work remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Personal protective equipment is always required when at the office, as well as following social distancing guidelines, and health and safety measures of hand sanitizing and cleaning procedures.
