Functional area: Renewables
The Senior Analyst will be a key team member of the Investments & Valuations (I&V) team, bringing renewable energy projects forward for investment
decisions at RWE Renewables Americas. The I&V team enables value-added growth by providing analysis and critical advice to our colleagues in the business and by ensuring strong governance about investment decisions. The Senior Analyst will work closely within the I&V team and with colleagues within the business. The team environment is high-energy and values good relationships, personal growth, inclusive debate and individual empowerment. Key tasks of the Senior Analyst are outlined below.
Support aggressive growth ambitions in the Americas (mainly US) renewables business (solar, wind and energy storage)
Develop quantitative and qualitative analyses of prospective investment opportunities and effectively communicate results
Support investment decision process, papers and presentations for RWE RES Board and RWE AG Board consideration
Evaluate and challenge inputs to investment decisions, especially those inputs that are key to valuation results
Coordinate and perform diligence on investment opportunities
Identify and implement process / valuation model improvements
Lead / support internal ad hoc projects with direct senior management involvement
Support other parts of the Investment team as required, including quality control reviews
(Required) 5+ years experience in finance roles including experience with financial modeling (DCF)
(Required) Proficiency in Excel
(Strongly Preferred) Renewable energy / investment banking experience including due diligence experience
(Strongly Preferred) Experience working in complex organizations, where cross-functional participation and decisions apply
(Preferred) Experience with statistical analytics, financial mathematics, data sciences and/or computer programming
Bachelor of Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or similar university degree required
MBA or advanced degree with a focus on statistics, data analytics or other quantitative focus preferred
Finance, business or other professional designations preferred (e.g. CFA, CPA, PMI) strongly preferred
