This position is within the specialized industries bank client coverage/origination for Regions Bank and Regions Securities LLC. Specialized Industries Associates are directly involved in the design, origination, structuring, and execution of financial advisory assignments, loan syndications, and capital markets products and services for existing and prospective clients. Associates also assist in the cultivation of client relationships by conducting research, staying abreast of client and industry trends, and participating in industry and client related strategic and tactical planning. Associates participate in client meetings, due diligence visits, and other client interactions during which they gain exposure to key executives and senior bankers. Associates provide these services as part of a client team that also consists of Analysts, Vice Presidents, and Directors/Managing Directors. Incumbents are expected to obtain the Series 79 & 63 licenses within six months of employment.
Additional responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Supporting senior bankers in their relationship responsibilities, including idea generation and interaction with current and prospective clients
Understanding client needs and identifying Regions products and services, or other unique, actionable ideas that can help clients achieve their goals
Developing and maintaining detailed financial models to value companies and depict projected financial results
Ensuring high quality of client deliverables by having strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Leading the preparation of written material, including pitches, proposals, client materials and associated supporting analyses
Conducting extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction
Participating in the recruitment, development, training, and oversight of junior resources
Successful candidates will be expected to assume a substantial amount of responsibility, including mentoring and developing Analysts. The Associate will be required to work in multiple roles and on multiple projects, both independently and as part of a team.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Associates typically work a minimum of 3 years before having the opportunity to advance to the Vice President position.
Bachelor’s degree with proven record of high achievement, MBA preferred
Three years of relevant work experience
Prior completion of a credit training program, knowledge of capital markets, M&A, or leveraged finance is preferred
Energetic and creative self-starter with willingness to work long hours, and take on and successfully manage significant and multiple responsibilities
Strong sense of personal accountability with a results orientation as part of a collaborative team environment
Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
