Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Financial Analyst.
In this role, the successful as a Sr. financial analyst, you’ll be responsible for supporting our financial close process, monthly reconciliations and analyses of financial activities. You will also liaise across the various NYU Langone Health departments on accounting issues to ensure all teams are contributing to the integrity of the monthly financial statements. We’re looking for a critical thinker and problem solver to join our accounting team.
Job Responsibilities:

Support the daily operations of the Accounting department as well as the financial statement close process including account reconciliations and analyses

Prepare standard and adjusting journal entries, as well as cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets as part of the monthly and quarterly close

Provide analyses to identify issues and understand fluctuations in balances to help maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of our financial reporting

Ad hoc special projects as needed

Assist with our annual financial statement audit and preparation of the consolidating audited financial statements
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
– Certified public accountant
– Experience coaching and reviewing work;
– Experience in the not for profit industry
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and knowledge of general accepting accounting principles;
– Have 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably including some public accounting experience;
– Are proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel; experience with Peoplesoft or similar ERP system is a plus;
– Are proactive, detail oriented, resourceful and have the ability to problem solve.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree MBA. CPA. 3 – 5 years Minimum of 3 years ofHealthcare accounting.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
