TITLE: Healthcare Management Instructor (Term position – Academic Year)
LOCATION: White Bridge Road Campus
RATE OF PAY: $39,776 – $49,720 annual salary depending on experience

This position is responsible for providing quality instruction, leadership and guidance to students enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science in Healthcare Management degree program at the assigned program site and to evaluate, schedule and advise students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply theories and principles of learning to instruction, including adapting instruction to the entry level knowledge and skills of students and using alternative instructional strategies where appropriate.
Establish and communicate clearly defined grading procedures and standards.
Give examinations and other types of evaluations necessary to determine student level of performance and understanding.
Use evaluations to revise and update content, objectives, and instructional strategies.
Work effectively with traditional and non-traditional students including those from diverse socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and those with different levels of academic preparation and varying physical and learning abilities.
Recommend course and program changes to the Dean when appropriate and develop curriculum. Create syllabi which meet college requirements and student needs.
Orient students to objectives and procedures before beginning instruction. Keep students aware of their progress in the course.
Advise students and perform record-keeping responsibilities related to teaching and advising.
Communicate clearly with students and colleagues.
Participate in division activities associated with the instructional program.
Demonstrate a willingness and commitment to extra-curricular responsibilities on behalf of the department and College.
Participate in professional organizations related to the healthcare field and/or teaching.
Respond in a timely fashion to all reasonable deadlines.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare related field
Industry certification, such as RHIA, CPC, CCS or other applicable certification, plus a minimum of three (3) years related industry experience
A thorough knowledge of medical terminology
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration
2 years collegiate level teaching experience
ICD and CPT coding experience
Experience teaching online courses
Knowledge of learning management systems, such as D2L and Blackboard

37.5 hours per week
