GROUP DESCRIPTION:
Jefferies Debt Advisory & Restructuring Group leverages the capabilities of our full-service platform to provide an array of advisory and financing solutions to increase financial flexibility for corporate clients and financial sponsors. Our Debt Advisory & Restructuring professionals focus on debtor advisory, creditor advisory, out-of-court solutions, financings (DIPs/exits/rescues,) distressed mergers & acquisitions, and expert witness testimony.
POSITION:
The successful candidate will be an Associate in our New York office managing transaction execution activities and business development opportunities relating to our advisory services to distressed companies and their stakeholders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage company and creditor transaction advisory engagements

Collaborate in developing and executing solutions to meet client needs

Assist in leading discussions with senior client executives and creditor representatives

Handle multiple assignments simultaneously

Oversee target research

Supervise and train staff

Develop professional network and relationships within firm
Qualifications
REQUIRED BACKGROUND:
-
Either (I) an MBA and 2-3 years of investment banking experience or (II) an undergraduate degree and 4-6 years of Restructuring and/or Credit related investment banking experience

Independent thinker and a resourceful problem solver driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment

Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task is strong, adaptable, and proactive

Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling, and analytical abilities

Excellent oral and written communicator

Experience managing analysts and/or other team members
