If you are a Human Resources professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson Automation Solutions has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Aiken, South Carolina office you will work as a Human Resources generalist for FLMC employees. You will report directly to the Manager, Human resources.

AS A HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE, YOU WILL:

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Aiken management and employees to coordinate personnel actions and address employee relations issues. Examples include hiring, transfers, merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

  • Administer effective personnel policies, procedures, and programs to uphold fair and equitable practices.

  • Prepare annual salary proposal including benchmarking positions.

  • Working with Benefits Department, coordinate and administer employee benefits.

  • Coordinate recruitment with Talent Acquisition Specialist.

  • Prepare, analyze, and submit required information for Equal Opportunity Employment and Affirmative Action Plans. Stay informed on developments in this arena to ensure location is compliant.

  • Interpret, advise, and counsel employees and management on policies and human resources procedures.

  • Onboard new hires. Coordinate and track employee training.

  • Act as a liaison for retirees with regards to pensions and retiree medical benefits.

  • Assist with Aiken Communication plan and assist with coordinating quarterly employee meetings.

  • Assist in planning all employee engagement activities.

  • Recruit for all hourly and salaried positions.

  • Manage bulletin board communications: compliance postings, employee relations, safety information, new product advertisements, etc.

WHO YOU ARE:
You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You follow through on commitments and make sure others do the same. You attract and select diverse and high caliber talent. You ask the right questions to accurately analyze situations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business, Human Resources or Liberal Arts preferred.

  • Three or more years’ experience in Human Resources required.

  • Experience and comfort working independently required. Ability to interact with all levels of an organization necessary.

  • One or more years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of PC database management, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software applications required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in Human Resources or MBA preferred

  • PHR and/or SPHR preferred.
