The Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA) is seeking an accomplished professional to play a critical role in defining and driving long-term strategic initiatives.
The Director of Strategy & Transformation leads VITA activities in developing and implementing its strategic plan and directing tactical planning activities. The position reports to the agency’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and will support effective strategic planning, business improvement, and performance analytics in all agency business units to promote improved objectives and outcomes.
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading Strategy and Transformation staff
- Development of organization strategic plans and implementation initiatives
- Development and implementation of organizational change management initiatives
- Organizational process improvement and documentation program
- Development of agency-wide policies in conjunction with cross-functional group of stakeholders
- Development and implementation of organizational performance analytics program
- Communication and collaboration with stakeholders across the organization to promote alignment and advance strategy and transformation projects.
- Tracking, managing and reporting on initiatives and impact.
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practice, and theory of business strategy, organizational change management, and program/project management. Demonstrated ability to strategize, design, and execute towards forward-thinking goals and generate innovative, data-driven approaches to organizational improvement initiatives. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic roadmaps and business cases. Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional teams to achieve improved business outcomes throughout an organization. Highly effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project, and other relevant software products. High school graduate or equivalent.
Extensive experience in a strategic or project management role with a technology organization. Master’s Degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) or related field. Certification(s) in Program Management, Organizational Change Management, Project Management, Business Process Management, Business Process Reengineering, Agile, Six Sigma, and/or related practice area. Prior experience working directly with and advising C-level executives, including experience making presentations and facilitating executive workshops.
