Business Valuation Associate

A Typical Day at Brown Edwards:
Engagement planning: determine the appropriate standard, premise and level of value, and subject interest.
Data collection: collect relevant client data necessary to perform a valuation analysis.
Financial statement analysis: review and analyze financial statements of the subject company and adjust to reflect normal operating conditions.
Company background analysis: obtain and document a thorough understanding of the subject company through research, management interviews and correspondence, and site visits
Economic and industry analysis: analyze the economic and competitive industry dynamics of the subject company to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
Valuation preparation: evaluate and apply appropriate valuations approaches and methodologies including preparing valuation findings, tables, and charts necessary to communicate business valuation results
Document preparation: assist in preparation of proposals, reports, and executive presentations.
Due diligence: participate in due diligence activities on pending M&A transactions, purchase price allocations, goodwill impairment measurement, restructurings, and fairness opinions.

What You Offer Brown Edwards:
Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field; MBA is a plus
Minimum of 2 years of related experience
CPA, ABV, ASA, CVA and/or other valuation designation, preferred
Public accounting or valuation firm experience, required
Knowledge of discounted cash flow models, trading and acquisition multiples
Understanding of valuation of intangible assets and equity
Ability to analyze client financial statements
Familiarity with derivatives, binomial, Monte Carlo and other simulation models
Software Proficiency – Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Word
