AWS Finance seeks a world class Senior Financial Analyst to be a key leader supporting the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) business in revenue planning and analytics (Deal Discounts and Credits). Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. Amazon EC2 has grown to be one of the fastest growing and most strategic suite of products in the AWS portfolio (https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/). This role will also own end-to-end support for AWS Fault Injection Simulator (https://aws.amazon.com/fis/).
This position will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including product managers, engineering leaders, sales and business development leadership, and internal AWS teams to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the Amazon EC2 businesses.
The successful candidate will implement and drive the core financial processes for the business including Annual Operating Plans, Service P&Ls, Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews, identify and quantify financial/operational Risks and Opportunities (R&O) to the business, and drive ad-hoc business projects. This position will be responsible for revenue planning, customer analytics, financial reporting, and economic modelling for Amazon EC2 and AWS Fault Injection Simulator.
This role requires a self-starter with a strong financial modeling background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in people management and thought leadership. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong people skills.
Key Responsibilities:

Partner with Amazon EC2 product and sales management leadership team to develop a strategic roadmap for pricing and revenue growth

Support new service/region launches; understand cost models and drive pricing decisions

Support the business P&Ls and influence business decisions that drive revenue and/or capital expenditures

Develop and evaluate new pricing constructs for the service

Provide deep analytics and communicate effectively to senior business team leaders

Take the lead in financial planning and analysis; building complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance, including short and long range financial/operational forecasts, and communicating results to senior management

Analyze new business ideas, make analytical judgments, and provide data intensive analyses to drive meaningful change

MBA preferred

Financial modeling, P&L management and/or analysis experience

Ability to understand multiple business dimensions and draw inferences by connecting various inputs.

Strong business partner experience; experienced in working with multiple stakeholders

Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills

Track record of managing deliverables from multiple parties to meet challenging deadlines

The ability to self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment with competing deadlines

Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy

Experience with cube engine tools (e.g. TM1, Cognos or Essbase), SQL and Data warehouse
