A successful career change is challenging because hiring systems and new recruiting technology is biased toward candidates with a “traditional” or expected background. In this boot camp, John Hutchings will present many practical techniques from Dawn Graham’s book Switchers: How Smart Professionals Change Careers and Seize Success. John will address how Master of Business students can engage to overcome hiring bias and create an effective strategy for how to get where they want to go.
You will learn:
1. The psychological principles underlying the job search and how MBAs can use these to their advantage.
2. Strategies for helping MBAs to align expectations with reality.
3. How MBAs can re-brand their experience in a way that hiring managers see as an asset.
4. Tactics to motivate resistant networkers to create ambassadors.
