Perfecting the EXTERNAL JOB SEARCH Interview - Interview Skills Practice

(This session for interviewing is for a traditional external job search.  There will be another session for internal interviewing in the Spring 2023 semester)

An interview is a discussion between a job candidate and a prospective employer. It is a two-way street where each participant has the opportunity to assess the match with each other. Successful interviewing depends on the candidate’s level of preparation, execution, and follow-up.  We will practice the skills to improve the likelihood of success. Topics will include perfecting the resume walk, making a good first impression, answering common behavioral questions.

There will be a special emphasis on video interviewing best practices.

You will learn and PRACTICE the principles necessary to succeed in ANY interview. In this learning lab you will:

  1. Communicate with confidence, clarity and precision to connect with any interviewer.
  2. Reflect and list the critical decisions, areas of impact and accomplished goals you have made in your career to understand the value you will bring to any company.
  3. Role play your experience with tough questions and learn to connect your unique value to the needs of your target employer
