Job Summary
The Demand Planning Director will be responsible for implementation and maintenance of world-class demand planning processes as part of Acuity’s Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Maintain and improve statistical forecasting models, algorithms, and methods.
- Measure Demand Plan accuracy, identify improvement opportunities, and lead efforts to eliminate bias from Demand Plans.
- Maintain demand planning processes and systems, including data integrity.
- Regular touchpoints with Product stakeholders to gather product life cycle inputs to the Demand Plan
- Develop models to predict demand for new product introductions and end-of-life scenarios
- Ensure all Portfolio Management Review outputs are understood and included in Demand Plan in preparation for monthly Demand Review
- Lead process development connecting Sales to Portfolio Management Review
- Lead process development connecting Demand Review to Supply Review
- Effectively document assumptions and analysis supporting Product inputs to Demand Plan
- Lead implementation of new statistical forecasting software (o9).
- Monitor demand and provide in-month feedback to organization when actual results vary from Plan
Other Responsibilities
- Monitoring Product life cycle accuracy, providing feedback to the Portfolio Management Review leader so that appropriate actions can be taken
- Transmitting all Demand Plan inputs by designated due dates.
- Communicating issues in a timely and proactive way in order to smooth the demand and supply processes
Education (minimum education required)
Bachelor of Business Administration
Preferred Education (i.e. type of degree)
Master of Business Administration
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Experience with statistical forecasting software highly desirable
- Minimum two to four years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Logistics, or one year with MBA
- APICS Certification preferred but not required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence
